Fourteen suspects were arrested on multiple drug-related counts Tuesday as the result of a monthslong investigation by the Highland County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. 23 Pipeline Task Force, which includes a variety of local and area law enforcement agencies.

Highland County Sheriff Richard Warner said his office also received information from the Hillsboro Police Department during the investigation and assistance from Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins.

“When we brought all these cases to her she got them done pretty quickly so we were able to get these people indicted and picked up, so I have to give a big thanks to her and her staff,” Warner said.

The day started with more than two dozen officers from various departments throughout the county gathering at the Highland County Justice Center. They were briefed, split into groups, then told where they were going and who they were going after.

Warner said officers on Tuesday were targeting primarily the Hillsboro and Rocky Fork Lake areas.

In all, Warner said 33 suspects were targeted, most on indictments handed down earlier in the day, but a few on summons.

Warner said late Tuesday that he did not have a lot of specifics on ages, hometowns of the suspects and what was confiscated, but those arrested and the charges against them are as follows:

• Mollie Bennett, summons for possession of heroin.

• Josh McKenzie, who was already in jail, trafficking in drugs.

• Jeremy Boyd, warrant for aggravated trafficking in drugs.

• Chadley Robinette, two counts of trafficking in marijuana, two counts of possession of marijuana, and one count of trafficking in drugs.

• Aaron McKenzie, illegal manufacture of drugs, and illegal assembly and possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.

• Ryan Stephenson, illegal manufacture of drugs, and illegal assembly and possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.

• Timothy Adams, three counts of trafficking in heroin, and three counts of possession of heroin.

• Amanda Christ, one count of trafficking in drugs, one count of trafficking in counterfeit drugs, one count of trafficking in heroin, and one count of possession of heroin.

• April Storms, aggravated trafficking in meth, aggravated possession of meth, three counts of trafficking in heroin, four counts of possession of heroin, and a forfeiture specification.

• Ryan West, aggravated trafficking in meth, aggravated possession of meth, and a forfeiture specification.

• David Temple, illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.

• Bryon Clemons, one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, seven counts of trafficking in heroin, seven counts of possession of heroin, one count of aggravated possession of drugs, and a forfeiture specification.

• Astasia Clemons, one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, four counts of trafficking in heroin, four counts of possession of heroin, and a forfeiture specification.

• Preston Baldrige, trafficking in heroin, and possession of heroin.

The sheriff’s office said it would be releasing more information on the case Wednesday afternoon.
