OK, Christmas has come and gone. How are you feeling? If you are like many, this may be a very “blue” time. The adrenaline push of the holidays has passed and many wish that it could have lasted much longer. We have spent weeks in anticipation of this holiday. Sometimes, even months. And now, after one weekend, and all the pageantry, the Christmas movies, the Christmas feasts, the worship services, the cantatas, and innumerable renditions of Handel’s “Messiah”, it’s over.

“I would like to change my bedtime on New Year’s Eve,” says Tyler, 11. “I usually go to bed at 10 p.m., but I would like to stay up all night. I would have a great time because we would first party, second play video games and third eat a lot!”

Lynvhburg Christmas winner

HHS National Honor Society inducts 23 new members

Twenty-three new members were inducted into the Hillsboro National Honor Society Chapter recently. The students were chosen based on their ability to display the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, leadership, dervice and character. These students excel in all of these areas and strive to make the community the best it can be. The NHS Chapter is advised by Mrs. Easterling this year and her goal is to support these students in their academic journey while holding them to the highest standard. This is a promising generation of students that will promote positive change in the community. McClain FFA team qualifies for state event

The McClain FFA recently took its Jr. Parliamentary Procedure team to compete at the state level. It was the first time in recent years that McClain has made the trip to the state event. After placing first at both the sub-district and district levels, the all-girls team headed to state where they placed second in the preliminary round. These girls spent countless hours working on this contest.
