Two festivals same weekend at fairgrounds
The Highland County Bluegrass Festival will join the third annual Unique, Boutique, & Antique Festival to be held concurrently this year at the Highland County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro on Friday, June 14 from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
GHS dinner benefits Shiloh project
The Greenfield Historical Society will have a special Sunday dinner to mark the 150th anniversary of the Shiloh Baptist Church. The event will be held Sunday, April 7 at the Grain & Hay Building at the corner of McArthur Way and Jefferson Street in Greenfield.
FHS student receives diploma posthumously
Everybody looks forward to that day when they get to walk across a stage and receive their high school diploma, which serves as a certificate stating that the student has finally completed their four years of high school. For Robert Lawson, this dream quickly turned unachievable when he was told he would not be graduating with the rest of his 1968 class at Fairfield High School as he was half an English credit short.
GHS planning annual Sunday dinners
The Greenfield Historical Society usually has three dinner fundraisers on the first Sunday of January, February and March. This year they are going to add one additional meal to raise money for the historic Shiloh Baptist Church preservation in Greenfield.
County planning road projects
Multiple new and continuing road projects are planned for this upcoming construction season, according to Highland County Engineer Christopher Fauber.

The Highland County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual meeting and dinner on Thursday, May 9, at the Hillsboro Orpheum.
SSCC summer, fall registration underway
Southern State Community College’s summer semester begins May 20 and the fall semester begins Aug. 26, and registration for both is currently underway.

The Serpent Mound Star Knowledge New Moon, Solar Eclipse Spring Peace Summit offers four days of ceremony with indigenous elders, musical experiences through song and drumming, workshops, presentations and other spiritually transformative opportunities. It takes place from Friday evening, April 5 to Monday, April 8.
