Farrens team wins Chamber outing

The Highland County Chamber of Commerce hosted its 33rd annual golf outing Sept. 22, at Buckeye Hills Country Club near Greenfield. Thirty-six teams and more than 40 volunteers took to the course for a day full of golf, networking and fun.

Hillsboro junior Corbin Winkle took first place among 101 runners and Lady Indian sophomore Jailyn Williams took second place out of 36 female runners last Saturday at the Washington Club Lions Invitational Cross Country Meet held at the Fayette County Family YMCA.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association released the official weekly football computer ratings. The computer ratings are released every Tuesday beginning in the fifth week of the season, leading up to the final report on Sunday, Oct. 22, when 448 schools – the top 16 in each region – will qualify for the playoffs.

After yet another disastrous performance this weekend, the Bengals fell to a record of 1-3 with a 27-3 loss to a poor Titans team that we have never lost to under Joe Burrow was the final alarm for me that Cincinnati needs to just let Joe get healthy. The panic button has been pushed in the McAdow household and I am afraid that it’s only going to get worse.

The Miami Trace High School varsity soccer team hosted the Indians of Hillsboro High School for a Frontier Athletic Conference on Thursday. When the action came to a close the result was a 2-2 tie.

HILLSBORO — It was a beautiful night for football as the Washington Blue Lions visited Highland County on Friday to take on the Hillsboro Indians in a Frontier Athletic Conference game.
