LEESBURG — The Whiteoak boys and Fairfield girls both claimed team titles at the 2023 Southern Hills Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships held last Friday at Fairfield High School.

The Hillsboro boys and McClain girls both finished as runners-up and the Hillsboro girls finished fifth and the McClain boys sixth at the 2023 Frontier Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships held at Hillsboro High School.

On an absolutely beautiful day for softball, the Fairfield Lady Lions saw their string of 20 consecutive sectional championships end on their home field Thursday with a 9-4 loss to the Westfall Lady Mustangs.

Hice signs with OCU

McClain High School’s Haydon Edward Hice (right) is pictured with head coach George Arroyo Jr. signing a letter of intent to play soccer at Ohio Christian University in Circleville. Hice has played soccer since he was 4 years old. He was a starter on the Tiger varsity team all four years. He was named All-Frontier Athletic Conference and second-team all-district freshman year, second-team all-district his junior year and All-FAC and all-district his senior year. He went his whole high school career with perfect attendance at McClain.

FHS clinches 7th straight SHL championship

The Fairfield Lady Lions took the field Friday in new uniform jerseys seeking their 24th Southern Hills Athletic Conference title and seventh consecutive championship as they faced the North Adams Lady Devils. Fairfield did not disappoint their fans as it defeated its guest in six innings, 11-1.
