Toy tractors on display at library

The Hillsboro library’s current farm-themed exhibits have pulled in just in time for the Highland County Fair.

The Southwestern Ohio Farm Toy Collectors Club is currently displaying a variety of toy tractors in two exhibits at the library.

Jim Gorman, one of the five original founders of the club, said that they are marking their 30th anniversary. He also listed the other co-founders: Don Kelley, Charlie Walker, Jim Walker and Randy Minzler.

The club’s first display at the library depicts a farm scene with several miniature toy tractors. This is located just inside the library’s front doors. The second display, in the teen section, highlights other larger toy tractors.

The library is also featuring a local artist, Brenda Hilderbrand, this month. Her work is on display in the fiction room.

Assistant supervisor Donna O’Dom described Hilderbrand as an “undiscovered local talent.” Her paintings depict “beautiful” barn and countryside scenes, O’Dom added.

To learn more about the library’s regularly changing exhibits, visit the Highland County District Library or search for the library on Facebook. If interested in displaying items, contact O’Dom at 937-393-3114.
