Greenfield McClain cheerleaders and Tigerettes will be helping out with the Special Olympics in Hillsboro Saturday. They will leave for Hills and Dales at 8:30 a.m.

The Special Olympics is an organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. They provide year-round training and competitions to nearly 5.3 million athletes worldwide. There are approximately 75 local events that athletes can participate in. The Special Olympics hosts eight statewide competitions each year, and every two years they send a team of athletes to compete in the World Games, which alternate between winter and summer sports.

The Tigerettes and cheerleaders say they are very excited to participate at the Special Olympics this year.
