In honor of the village’s recently bicentennial celebration, Highland recently placed 20 new flags on flag poles along the main streets through the village. Half the flags were donated by Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 and the other half were purchased by the village. In one photograph, Dottie Creed, who helped organize the flag project, is pictured with Hillsboro VFW Commander Rick Wilkin, left, and VFW Quartermaster David Pinney, right. A couple of the flags are shown in the other photograph.
