The Hillsboro High School Musical Theatre Department is preparing for one of its most expensive productions ever and is calling on the community to help.

The school will present the musical “Les Miserables” on March 31, April 1 and April 2.

The cast includes more than 70 students in grades 4-12 and will be performance unlike any other the school has ever produced, the theatre department said in a news release.

“As such, we are seeking your help in funding this production, which we estimate will cost approximately $6,000 to produce,” the news release said. “While ticket sales will make up a portion of the production costs, they will not even begin to cover everything. We are offering individuals and businesses the opportunity to support the students by purchasing a program advertisement, which will be available to all audience members.”

A full page ad is $100, a half page ad is $75, a quarter page ad is $50 and a single line ad is $25. Checks should be made out to: HHS Musical Theatre, and mailed to HHS Musical Theatre, c/o David White, 550 U.S. Route 62 south, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.

Checks should be submitted by March 1 and can include a business card or any other graphic desired to be placed on the ad.

A spokesperson said the musical will include battle scenes and numerous outstanding vocal performances.
