The Hillsboro Elks have concluded their Student of the Month program for this school year and have chosen a Student of the Year from our six county schools. The announcement comes during National Elks Youth Week, the first week in May.
The following seniors won Student of the Month:
• Hope Tira – Hillsboro, October
• Lane Frost – Fairfield, November
• Lauren Hitt – Christian Academy, December
• Brittany Ernst – Lynchburg-Clay, January
• Margaret Carr – White Oak, February
• Madison Schumacher – Greenfield, March
Each student had the opportunity to complete a Volunteerism Award application highlighting their community service work. One winner was chosen from those applications and Brittany Ernst from Lynchburg-Clay was named Student of the Year.
Ernst is now in the district competition to win $1,000 to a college of her choice. The district will announce a winner no later than June 1 of this year.
