Library introduces hoopla app

The Highland County District Library has partnered with hoopla digital – an app which allows patrons to borrow books, movies, music, comic books, and more on a digital platform.

The app will go live next week. A library card is all that is needed to have access to the thousands of titles available from major Hollywood studios, record companies and publishers. To get started, patrons can download the app on their Andriod or IOS device or visit hoopladigital.com.

Highland County District Library Director Jennifer West described the app, saying that, “Patrons will be able to download movies, books, and music onto their computers or gadgets and then view them later anywhere.”

An internet connection will be needed for the initial download. Once the lending period for an item expires, it will disappear from the patron’s device.
