A pair of culvert replacement projects have been scheduled in Highland County on SR 135 and SR 73 in the following weeks, with both routes slated for weeklong closures.

During the week of May 15, SR 135 will be closed between U.S. Route 50 at Allensburg and Anderson Road for crews from the Highland County Highway Maintenance Facility to replace a deteriorated pipe at the 1.09-mile marker.

The closure will go into effect at approximately 8 a.m. Monday and continue until 4 p.m. Friday, May 19, or until all work is completed. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of U.S. 50, SR 134 and Anderson Road. Completion of the project will be contingent upon the weather.

Then in the following week, May 22-26, maintenance crews will close SR 73 for a culvert replacement project at the 21.67-mile marker. The project site is located between Flat Run Road and Zion Road, east of Belfast and approximately two miles west of the Highland-Adams County line.

While the route is closed, thru-traffic motorists will be detoured via SR 785, SR 247 and SR 32. Motorists may also detour via SR 770.
