Spencer Brown receives the Vance Scholarship from Hillsboro Chapter 441 Order of the Eastern Start trustees Ruth Ann Moore, Robert Griffith and Phillips Burchett. Brown ranked near the top of his high school class. He was involved in several school activities including soccer, tennis, National Honor Society, Quick Recall, Project Trust and was the blood drive chairman. Brown received admission to Ohio State University, Miami University, Notre Dame and the University of Michigan College of Literature Science. The Hillsboro chapter gives a scholarship each year to a child or grandchild of one of its members. The trustees evaluate the applications, meet with the students, then decided who gets the scholarship.
