Hillsboro attends junior nationals

Hillsboro FFA members recently attended the Maine Anjou and Chianina Jr. Nationals in Hutchinson, Kansas. Twenty-one states attended the show, and 37 members from Ohio attended. Members met other showman in the cattle industry and exhibited their cattle. Members participated in a fitting contest, public speaking, salesmanship, showmanship, livestock judging and Quiz Bowl. Each event that members participated in earned points for their state. Ohio got fourth place in the total amount of points. The members also got to watch a showmanship and fitting demonstration by Sullivan’s Show Supply to help strengthen their fitting and showing skills. Lawton Parry summed up the week by saying, “It was a great time and I learned a lot. I can’t wait until next year.” Pictured are Lawton Parry, Larkyn Parry and Gavin Puckett.
