One hundred seventy educators representing 20 school districts from Adams, Brown, Clinton, Fayetteand Highland counties were in attendance to hear learning specialist, author, keynote speaker and consultant LaVonna Roth bridge her passion for how the brain learns with education.

The event, hosted by the Southern Ohio Educational Service Center and Region 14 Hopewell Center, was the capstone of a series of workshops offering teachers and administrators continuing education opportunities.

Roth met with educators throughout the day sharing her high-energy, entertaining and inspirational keynote presentation leading teachers to banish boredom and compliance from their classrooms and immerse students in a multi-faceted and fast-paced world where dynamic instruction captivates and challenges their brains.

Roth guided teachers in how to “restock their toolbox” with dynamic, brain-powered strategies that will ensure teachers reach students with diverse backgrounds, varying emotional needs, and those who are dealing with the challenges of stress and poverty.

As teachers continue to work through the summer months preparing for the start of the 2017-18 school year, they are now more equipped to better engage students in classroom learning activities having benefitted from the strategies shared by LaVonna Roth.
