Rotarians hear about China adventure


Cerena Kibbey, 18, the daughter of Jeremy and Brandy Kibbey of Highland, addressed Hillsboro Rotarians on Tuesday, describing her recent trip to China to work in a panda refuge as part of a Girl Scout Destination Trip. Kibbey is a member of Girl Scout Troop 1993, and will be a senior at Fairfield High School and at the Laurel Oaks animal science course. She said she loves pandas, and hopes to become a veterinarian. She was introduced by Rotarian Dan Pearce, who is also a grant coordinator for Hillsboro Elks, which helped fund the trip. The meeting took place at the Ponderosa Banquet Center. Also shown is Rotary president Reid Sharp.
