U.S. 50 project meeting in Bainbridge

The Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 has scheduled a town hall meeting to discuss the ongoing slide repair project on U.S. Route 50, east of Bainbridge, in Ross County.

The project, which called for the installation of a 368-foot, drilled shaft retaining wall, has been on hold since encountering a series of setbacks, and due to complications from the terrain and geological features, modifications to the original design became necessary after it was found that bedrock in one section of the project area was deeper than indicated initially.

Staff from ODOT District 9’s administration and construction departments will hold the meeting to discuss the project redesign, which includes building an additional, 128-foot, double-beamed lag wall at the west end of the construction zone, as well as the maintenance of traffic for the remainder of the construction project.

The meeting, which will be an open house format, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Bainbridge Community Center located at 113 Dewey Ave. in Bainbridge.
