Highco holds award ceremony

Highco held its inaugural Dinner and Award Ceremony at the Elks in Hillsboro on Sept. 14. There were over 90 people in attendance including community business partners, staff, clients and their family memebers.

Highco started the evening with keynote speaker Rick Willer from Cincinnati followed by staff introductions and updates from Highco CEO Keith Alcorn, who then presented the awards.

Ponderosa received the Community Partner of the Year Award, Ferno and Timber Tech both received Business Partner of the Year Awards, Staff Member of the Year went to Amelia Zarate, Alex Steele received the Community Employment Employee of the Year, and Forrest Smalley received the Employee of the Year Award.

Alcorn also presented comparison numbers from 2016 to 2017 as of September. In 2016, Highco enrolled 92 clients in its day program and 122 in 2017. Highco took 40,000 transportation trips in 2016 and 43,000 in 2017. Community Employment served 15 people in 2016 and 109 in 2017. Highco’s Summer Youth program served seven people in 2016 and 22 in 2017. In 2017, Highco also started providing homemaker personal care services and has 16 people served as of September 2017.
