Adena Health System has announced Adena Home Care has received three-year accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). Accreditation includes services provided by Adena Home Infusion, Durable Medical Equipment (DME), and Respiratory.

“Patients and their families have many choices when it comes to accessing home health care services,” said Jeff Graham, Adena President and CEO. “Accreditation by one of the country’s toughest surveyors should assure our patients that Adena’s home health services are among the best in the nation.”

Achieving accreditation is a process where health care organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards. Accreditation by ACHC reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

Adena Home Care underwent a rigorous, unannounced on-site survey conducted over two days this summer. During its review, a team of ACHC surveyors inspected Adena’s home care facility, reviewed personnel files, accompanied staff on visits to patient homes, observed pharmacy sterile compounding, reviewed patient records and billing audits, conducted interviews with staff, and reviewed policies.

This accreditation comes after Adena Home Health and Hospice received accredited status in 2015.

“All three home care service lines are now fully accredited, a significant achievement given ACHC’s high standards,” said Debi Hanson, director of Adena Home Care. “This accreditation recognizes our standards of care go the extra mile to assure quality in the services and products we provide for our patients and community.”

ACHC is a non-profit accreditation organization that has stood as a symbol of quality and excellence for 30 years. ACHC offers nationally-recognized accreditation services for home health, hospice, and private duty agencies.
