0

This year at the Highland County Fair the Hillsboro FFA members exhibited a variety of special interest projects. Nearly 15 members displayed projects ranging from vegetables, to woodworking, to flowers, and even leadership projects.

Members Jessica Moon, Lana Grover, Lauren Grover, Brittany Rhoads, Christine Page and Jacob Helterbrand entered vegetables such as cucumbers, peppers, green beans, tomatoes and pumpkins. Members Caleb Knight and Ellie Emore entered woodworking projects in the Junior Fair. Elmore received grand champion for small woodworking projects with her nail box and Knight did well with his table project.

Other FFA members including Brittany Howard, Breanne Fender and Larkyn Parry participated in interviews regarding their leadership projects. These ladies placed first and second in their interviews.

The Hillsboro FFA livestock judging team also participated in the livestock judging contest at the county fair. Members included included Emma Parry, Kirsten Harp, Joe Helterbrand and Lana Grover. The team placed fifth. Helterbrand placed third overall individually and Emma Parry placed 10th overall individually. Freshman member Lawton Parry placed third overall in the junior division.

The Hillsboro FFA would like to congratulate all who participated in judging and exhibited vegetables or other projects on a job well done
