The Lynchburg Lions Club and Lions Club International sponsored their annual Peace Poster Contest this fall. The clubs encourage middle school students to develop a special poster on a theme related to promoting world peace. A total of 87 students participated in the contest. Ms. Free supervised the contest. Five winners were selected and they were given certificates and cash prizes. All participants were recognized. The top five winners and the families will be invited to a special dinner later this winter at the Lynchburg Lions Club building to honor them. The top five winners this year, in order, were Logan Warner, Samantha Merry, Americo Brioli, Blake Eyre and Taylor Stroop. All are sixth grade students at Lynchburg-Clay Middle School. Warner’s award-winning poster was submitted to the district finals. Each Lions Club is encouraged to submit an entry from its local school. There are 64 Lions Clubs in district 13-OH6 and the Lynchburg Lions club is proud to sponsor Warner in the district contest. Pictured, from left, are Free, Stroop, Merry, Warner, Brioli and Eyre.
