Mowrystown FFA holds annual banquet

The Mowrystown FFA chapter held its annual banquet May 8 when FFA members were recognized for outstanding accomplishments over the past year. It was made known that this is the 80th year that the Mowrystown FFA chapter has been a part of The Ohio FFA. Along with awards, the new chapter officers for the 2018-19 school year were inducted and placed within their respective offices. Pictured are the new Mowrystown FFA officers. One of the most anticipated awards of the evening is the outstanding student awards from each grade level. To qualify for this award, students must be active in the chapter and fill out an application. Chapter adviser Brian DeAtley evaluates each application along with active participation within the last year. The following are the outstanding students for each grade level: eighth grade, first place Bobby Satterfield; second place Jessie Satterfield; third place Aiden Elliott. Ninth grade, first place, Chesnie Pharo. Sophomores, Cora Gillespie. Juniors, first place, Zach DeAtley; second place, Atlee Carr; third place, Nate Frazer. Seniors, first place, Colton Evans; second place, Katie Pietropinto.
