Representing the Sons of the American Revolution Highlanders Chapter, which encompasses Highland, Brown and Clermont counties, Gerold “Buzzard” Wilkin presented an “All Wars” flag to the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, then placed a wreath at the Highland County Veterans Memorial in Hillsboro last Sunday as part of National Wreaths Across America Day, a movement to cover all veterans’ grave markers with a Christmas wreath. The year around mission of Wreaths Across America is to remember fallen U.S. veterans, honor those who serve, and teach children the value of freedom. Pictured receiving the All Wars flag is Linda Slone, administrator of the Ohio Veterans Home, center. Also pictured are Wilkin, right, and Ian Cunningham.
