Iraq veteran, author will visit Lynchburg

Bodybuilding and writing were therapy for Wadsworth, Ohio, resident and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Bryan Carpenter as he recovered from injuries sustained while serving in Iraq.

The story of Lance Cpl. Carpenter’s trials and tribulations are told in his book, “Never-ending Battle After Iraq: A Marine’s Road to Recovery,” which was published in mid-January. Now he wants to share his inspirational story with others and does motivational speaking engagements.

The Lynchburg Area Business Association will host an event with Carpenter and has invited everyone in the community to attend on Saturday, June 18 at 7 p.m. at the Lynchburg-Clay High School gymnasium. There is no charge for admission and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

One autographed copy of Carpenter’s book will be given away at the event.
