Fur, Feathers 4-H Club meeting

0

The last meeting of the Fur, Feathers and Friends 4-H Club was held on June 23 at Bright Elementary.

The meeting was called to order by club president Caitlin Frazer. Pledges were lead by Darby Yeager. Announcements were made about July judging, state fair qualifying, market rabbit tattooing, market chicken pick-up and entry day on July 15.

This year two members will be representing the Fur, Feathers and Friends 4-H Club as ambassadors at this year’s fair. Congratulations to Ashlie Hillyer as a 2016 Goat Ambassador and Caitlin Frazer as a 2016 Rabbit Ambassador.

The club will be trying something new this year. Everyone was given watermelon seeds to take home and plant. Each member will grow watermelons and bring one to the last meeting where prizes will be given out for different categories such as biggest, ugliest, weirdest shape, roundest, longest, etc. Then the watermelons will be eaten as refreshments. The melons can also be entered in the junior fair as a project.
