Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of Dec. 14-20, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 382 911 calls, answered 147 requests for service, dispatched 136 fire and EMS runs, took 12 offense reports and investigated five traffic crashes.

At 3:50 p.m. on Dec. 14 two New Vienna Road residents came to the sheriff’s office to report the theft of jewelry, cash and other valuables from their home. A deputy spoke to the couple and an offense report was taken.

On Dec. 15 at 11:26 p.m. a citizen residing in the 9000 block of East Deadfall Road called the sheriff’s office to report a domestic disturbance at a neighbor’s residence. The caller could hear a male and female yelling and screaming. Deputies were dispatched to the scene where they spoke with the parties involved. The incident was verbal in nature and no charges were necessary.

On Dec. 17 between 4:38 p.m. and 4:46 p.m. the sheriff’s office received three calls from three separate citizens all reporting receiving harassing phone calls from one another. A deputy responded to a Dodsonville residence where he met with one of the complainants while he spoke to the other parties via telephone. The incident stemmed from a civil issue and nothing criminal had taken place. All three subjects were advised if the harassing calls didn’t stop, criminal charges would be filed on all.

Deputies were dispatched to a Rocky Fork Lake residence at 1:11 a.m. on Dec. 19 after receiving a 911 call reporting an intoxicated female involved in a fight. A female was arrested at the scene and transported to the Highland County Justice Center
