The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:
On Saturday, Jan. 16 at 11:23 a.m. the police department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of SR 73 and Harry Sauner Road. David B. Achtermann was southbound on SR 73 approaching Harry Sauner Road. Achtermann was belived to have fell asleep at the wheel causing his vehicle to go left of center across the northbound lane going into the ditch before striking a street sign and post continuing into the intersection of Harry Sauner Road. Achtermann’s vehicle was then struck by a vehicle driven by James A Gragg, 48, of Hillsboro, who was traveling through the intersection. Achtermann’s vehicle received functional damage and was towed from the scene. Gragg’s vehicle received minor non-functional damage. Achtermann was cited for left of center.
Jesse P Carpenter, 24, of New Vienna, was arrested for failure to appear.
William S. Arpan II, 22, of Hillsboro, was arrested for theft.
Jacob Williamson, 23, of Hillsboro, was cited for driving under suspension.
Rachael Hall, 29, of Middletown, was cited for disorderly conduct.
Myeisha Thomas, 23, of Hillsboro, was cited for disorderly conduct.
