Probation extended for man with second assault charge

A Mount Orab man facing his second assault charge entered into a plea agreement in Hillsboro Municipal Court on Thursday.As per the agreement, Jacob Hamilton, 22, pled guilty to an amended and reduced charge of persistent disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. The state recommended that a 30-day jail sentence be suspended on the condition that Hamilton agree to stay away from the alleged victim.Hamilton told the court, “I’m sorry for what I did.”A 30-day jail sentence was suspended, and Hamilton’s probation was extended for three years. In addition, he will have to pay a $250 fine.Hamilton will also have to observe an 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. curfew and obtain anger management classes.

Fur, Feathers, and Friends club meets at Bright Elementary

The Fur, Feathers and Friends 4-H club held a recent meeting at Bright Elementary. Gabrielle Tebo led the pledges. Jacob Campbell gave the treasurers report. Caitlin Frazer went over new and old business. Frazer will be representing the club in the fair queen contest. Everyone met with their groups, made market animal invitations, and collected the 4-H shirts they ordered. The next meeting is Aug. 21, Bright Elementary at 7 p.m.
