Hillsboro veterinarian and author Dr. Robert T. Sharp, pictured with Linda Hengst (left), executive director of the Ohioana Library Association, and Barbara Meister, Ohioana librarian, was one of the Ohio authors who spoke and was recognized at a reception held May 7 at the state library in Columbus. Sharp is the author of ‘No Dogs in Heaven? Scenes from the Life of a Country Veterinarian,’ published in April 2005 and available at www.amazon.com. The Ohioana Library Association, founded in 1929, is dedicated to ‘encouraging, preserving, and promoting the literary, musical, and artistic heritage of Ohio.’ It maintains a carefully preserved permanent collection of books about Ohio or by Ohio authors. The association also publishes the Ohioana Quarterly, promotes educational activities relating to Ohio culture, and awards prizes yearly for notable accomplishments by Ohio authors.
