3 sentenced in common pleas for drug charges

A total of three defendants appearing in Highland County Common Pleas Court this week were sentenced to community control.

According to court records, Michael Stephens, 63, Leesburg, was found guilty of third-degree felony illegal cultivation of marijuana. He was sentenced to three years of community control.

Stephens must also pay a $5,000 fine, records added. He must forfeit guns to the Highland County Sheriff’s Department. Any guns that are not forfeited must “be released to (a) family member,” court records stated.

Stephens must also “pay $15,000 to (the) sheriff in lieu of real estate forfeiture,” records added.

In other cases, David Grubb, 19, Piketon, was found guilty of aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth degree felony. He was indicted in April by the Highland County Grand Jury.

Records showed that he was sentenced to three years of community control on the fifth-degree felony. Grubb was also ordered to successfully complete a recommended treatment program.

Charles M. Davis, 25, Hillsboro, was also placed on community control for the next three years and ordered to complete a treatment program.

According to records, he was found guilty of fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs. He was indicted in May by the Highland County Grand Jury.
