The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Nov. 2, 2016

ACCIDENTS

At 1:58 p.m. the police department responded to a crash in the 200 block of West Main Street. Upon officer arrival it was found that Teresa Carter, 32, Hillsboro, operating a 2010 Dodge van, failed to yield for right of way when turning left for vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. Carter struck Early Wilson’s, 85, Seymour, Tennessee, 2005 Buick sedan. Carter was cited for this violation.

INCIDENTS

At 12:10 the police department received a report from a resident of the 600 block of North High Street that an unknown persons attempted forced entry into their vehicle. No entry was made however damage around the door and top of cab indicated an attempted break in.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS:

John Burke, 33, Huber Heights — failure to appear bench warrant.

Brandon Crawford, 23, Georgetown — citation operating without license plates.

Christopher Crothers, 26, Peebles — citation speed 51/35.

Dereck Harris, 32, Hillsboro — endangering children.

Christopher Burns, 33, Hillsboro — obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

Jared Cumberland, 27, Hillsboro — failure to appear bench warrant.

Amelia Minzer, 27, Hillsboro — failure to appear bench warrant, two counts.

John Michael Merrick, 47, Hillsboro — telephone harassment and menacing.

Nov. 4, 2016

INCIDENTS

At 5:47 a.m. the police department responded to the 400 block of South Elm Street after receiving a call reporting a male subject attempting forced entry into a resident’s vehicle. After officers patrolled the area, a male was found in the area and was identified as a Bradley Kinnett, 29, Bainbridge. Kinnett was identified by a witness at the scene. Kinnett was arrested and transported to the Highland County Justice Center. Kinnett is being charged with criminal trespassing. The reporting officer recovered various items of property from this incident in the 100 block of Uhrig Street that may have come from the surrounding area. If any persons of the community have any items missing, you may come to the Hillsboro Police Department to speak with an officer and recover any items that may have been taken from your property.

ACCIDENT

At 2:51 p.m. the police department responded to a crash in the 1200 block of North High Street. Upon officer arrival it was found that Patsy Greene, 81, of Greenfield, operating a 2006 Mitsubishi SUV, failed to yield while entering the roadway from a private drive and struck the passenger side of Sherry Fyffe’s, 40, of Hillsboro, 2005 Pontiac sedan.

Nov. 5, 2016

INCIDENTS

At 2:49 a.m. the police department responded to a reported gas drive off at Flagway gas station located within the 100 block of E Main Street. The incident remains under investigation. The vehicle was described as a maroon Mercury Cougar that had no license plates on it, operated by an unknown male.

at 12:24 p.m. the police department responded to a reported gas drive off located at Marathon 1st Stop located in the 900 block of West Main Street. After investigating officer reviewed video surveillance it was determined a purple Chevrolet Equinox, unknown license plate number, drove off without the intent to pay for the gasoline that was pumped. This incident is under investigation.

John L Brown, 34, Greenfield — failure to appear bench warrant.

Austin Ruetenik, 18, Springfield — citation unnecessary excessive muffler noise, and squealing tires.

Lula A Spruance, 39, Greenfield — failure to appear bench warrant.
