County awarded funds to assist with household sewage systems

0

The Highland County General Health District applied for and has been awarded funds for the repair and/or replacement of failing household sewage treatment systems through the Ohio EPA and the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund.

Certain economic criteria are required in order to qualify for financial assistance with these funds. The existing septic system of the applicants will be evaluated by the Health District to see the extent of the failure, and to determine the best and most economical way to make the septic system function properly and be in compliance with the current regulations.

The Highland County Health District is currently working through the process of establishing an agreement with the Ohio EPA and developing a model contract in order to be prepared.
