A Peebles man was arrested Monday after Hillsboro police officers say he was found hiding in a bedroom with suspected packages of methamphetamine.

At approximately 3 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department said it received information of a male subject with an outstanding drug-related warrant who was inside of a residence in the 100 block of Taylor Drive.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers searched the property and the subject, identified as Jamie Lykins, 34, of Peebles, was located hiding in a bedroom. He was allegedly found to have multiple clear baggies containing a powdery substance suspected of being methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia on his person, the police department said.

Lykins was arrested for the outstanding warrant and transported to the Highland County Jail. The suspected methamphetamine will be sent to the crime lab and pending test results, further delony charges are pending after review by the Highland County Prosecutor’s Office, the police department said.
