Memory of veterans set in stone

Students with the Laurel Oaks masonry training program install the latest round of commemorative bricks at the Highland County Veterans Memorial Wednesday afternoon in preparation for Memorial Day celebrations. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine will be the featured speaker at the 2017 Memorial Day ceremony in Hillsboro, according to VFW Post 9094 Commander Rick Wilkin. The event will take place on Memorial Day, May 29, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Highland County Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the county courthouse. Also participating will be the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard. Members of the Hillsboro High School band will be on hand to perform, and bleacher seating will be available.
