Man, dog given medical help after wreck

A man was transported via ambulance to Highland District Hospital after a rollover wreck on U.S. Route 62 near Wildcat Road Friday afternoon. Authorities on scene said the man, headed north on US 62 in a pickup truck, apparently drove off the right side of the road and struck an embankment, causing the truck to roll over before it came to rest upright in a nearby yard. The man appeared to be responsive as he was carried to the ambulance on a stretcher. A dog, which was apparently also in the vehicle at the time of the wreck, was transported to Hillsboro for medical treatment. No further information was available at the scene.
