The Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) is offering a free showing Saturday of the film “GMO OMG,” by director Jeremy Seifert.

The film will be shown at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7240 Cave Rd., Bainbridge.

“See what happens as he sets out on a journey across the globe to uncover how genetically modified organisms (GMOs) affect our children and the health of our planet,” according to a film description. “Along the way, he reveals the state of our current industrial food system and we gain insight into a question that is of growing concern to consumers everywhere: What’s really on our plate?”

Analena Bruce, one of the organizers of Saturday’s event, said earlier this month that Elizabeth Kucinich, executive producer of the film, and her husband, former U.S. congressman and two-time presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, plan to attend

Event organizers say that with the House’s passage of the DARK Act, debate about the right to know what people eat and feed their families is heating up. “Now is the time to gather with friends and neighbors, get more information, and take action,” organizers said.

To RSVP, call (937) 365-1330. Limited space is available.
