Highland County travel report

Through the week ending Nov. 10, the following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring longterm lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in Highland County. For statewide information regarding road conditions affected by weather, construction, maintenance or accidents, visit ODOT on the web at www.Ohgo.com.

SR 73 is subject to intermittent single-lane restrictions at its intersection with Prospect Road for pavement work as part of a realignment/widening project on Prospect Road. Restrictions and closures are also in effect on Prospect Road, where it is closed between Bennington Road and Pigeon Roost Road. The intersecting roadways may also be affected by this closure, and traffic is being detoured locally. The completion date for the entire project is summer of 2019.

A resurfacing project on SR 124 has been suspended and the route is closed between Key Street and Bowers Avenue in the City of Hillsboro while contractors for the city complete utility and curb work. Currently, it is anticipated that paving operations for the resurfacing project will resume Nov. 8, weather permitting. In the interim, motorists are being detoured via U.S. Route 50 (Chillicothe Pike) and Bowers Avenue.

U.S. 62 is reduced to one, 10-foot lane between Selph Road and Surber Lane, approximately one mile north of Hillsboro, for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals, and the project is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall.
