Veterans, current military service members, and their spouses can receive free job search assistance at a Veterans Career Workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

Hosted by Military Veterans Resource Center (MVRC), the workshop will teach vets the skills they need to be better job candidates. It will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Highland County Veterans Service Commission, located at 1575 N. High St., Suite 400 in the Hi-Tech Center off U.S. Route 62 north in Hillsboro.

“We’re here to help veterans feel confident in their job search,” said MVRC Executive Director Len Proper. “They’ll learn how to stay relaxed during the interview and talk about their skills with employers.”

The workshop will include a resume session, where MVRC Veterans Services specialists will help participants polish their resumes. The vets will also have the opportunity to improve their interview skills.

Participants must preregister by contacting Brandon Taylor at 740-835-5145 or [email protected]. The workshop has limited seating, so call early to be sure of a spot.

The Military Veterans Resource Center helps veterans who served honorably become self-reliant in managing their career and life decisions. MVRC is based in Columbus and operates five centers throughout Ohio.
