Hillsboro City Council will meet at 6 p.m. today (Monday) in regard to an ordinance to amend Chapter 35 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Hillsboro regarding municipal income tax, introduced by the tax commissioner. There are no other items on the agenda.

Council President Lee Koogler said Monday the amendment needs to be passed before the end of the year, as the state now requires municipalities to have local legislation in order to continue to collect city income tax. It does not impact the rate of collection, said Koogler.
