Mustard elected new Greenfield board president

Members of the Greenfield Village School District Board of Education met Monday to reorganize for the year and swear in two members.

Returning to the board after a couple years absence was Sandy Free, who previously served three four-year terms. Free was sworn in Monday as was Jason Allison, who was re-elected to the board in November for a third term.

Named as president of the board of education was Doug Mustard, with Allison named as vice president.

The board members elected to the following positions for the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) are: Eric Zint, legislative liaison;Mustard, OSBA delegate; Zint, OSBA alternate; Marilyn Mitchell, student achievement liaison; and former board member Greg Barr will remain the delegate to the Joint Vocational Schools (JVS).

Also, board members were appointed to the superintendent committees as follows: Zint and Allison, budget and finance; Zint and Allison, curriculum and standards; Free and Mitchell, policy and procedure; Sandy and Mustard, building and grounds; Marilyn and Doug, student activities; Zint, health care; and Free, Regional Advisory Council (RAC).

Meetings for the year were also approved and in 2016 they will be held the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m., unless that third Monday falls on or near a holiday.

The next regular meeting of the Greenfield Exempted Village School District Board of Education is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Jan. 25 in the boardroom at the central office in Greenfield.

The rest of the meeting schedule approved for the year is: Feb. 22, Rainsboro; March 21, Greenfield; April 18, Buckskin; May 23, Greenfield; June 20, Greenfield; July 18, Greenfield; Aug. 15, Greenfield; Sept. 19, Rainsboro; Oct. 17., Greenfield; Nov. 21, Buckskin; Dec. 12, Greenfield.
