Hillsboro man gets judicial release

A Hillsboro man sentenced to two and a half years prison in July has been granted judicial release.

Ronald Blake Brown, 22, is to successfully complete a residential treatment program. After that, he will be on community control.

Brown was sentenced to 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to third-degree felony illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.

In another hearing, Frank L. Thompson, 65, Leesburg, pled guilty to fifth-degree felony illegal cultivation of marijuana and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction.

Once a defendant is engaged in the program all further prosecution on their case halts, and if they successfully complete the intervention in lieu of conviction the felony charges against them are dismissed.

Brooke Lynn Bailey, 25, Highland, failed to appear for a hearing on Thursday and a warrant was issued for her arrest, according to court records.
