Anyone who purchased kerosene at Hirn’s Corner in Bainbridge between Jan. 27 and Feb. 3 should discontinue using it immediately and return it for a full refund or replacement.

Mike Flynn of Hartley Oil said Thursday the kerosene could be contaminated with gasoline, creating a potentially dangerous situation.

Flynn said most customers who purchsed the kerosene between those dates have been identified, and no incidents have occurred so far.

Hirn’s Corner’s Facebook page also posted a notice about the potentially tainted kerosene, saying, “There is a contamination issue that could cause the kerosene to burn too hot.”

Flynn said questions should be directed to Hirn’s Corner at 740-634-3286.
