Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Highland County Engineer’s Office will undertake a dual bridge replacement project on Tolle and Holladay roads in Highland County, with restrictions going into effect next week.

Crews from Complete General Construction Company will be replacing a bridge located at the 2.84-mile marker on Tolle Road, between SR 138 and U.S. Route 50, and a bridge located at the 1.26-mile marker on Holladay Road, just north of its junction with Ervin Road. Construction also includes improving the alignment at the northern site on Tolle Road, as well as relocating the intersection of Holladay Road with Ervin Road at the southern location.

Construction was scheduled to begin Monday, June 29, and during the first phase of the project Tolle Road will be closed and motorists will be detoured by way of SR 138, Mad River Road and U.S. 50.

Although the Holladay Road site is not scheduled to be closed until the Tolle Road bridge is completed, intermittent restrictions may be in effect for intersection work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers during this time; when the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via Griffith Road, Muhlbach Road, Mad River Road and SR 138.

Complete General was awarded a contract in the amount of $1.92 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in late fall.
