SR 753 closing twice this month

Maintenance crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 will undertake a series of culvert replacement projects on SR 753 this month, requiring closure of the route for up to three weeks.

On Monday, July 13, crews will close SR 753 just north of Couch Road to replace a deteriorated culvert at the 2.17-mile marker. The closure will go into effect at approximately 8 a.m. Monday and remain in effect until 4 p.m. Friday, July 24.

Although a two-week closure has been scheduled, it is anticipated that the project will be completed in advance.

Following this project, SR 753 will then be closed in order for Highland County maintenance crews to replace a pair of culverts between Eubanks and Couch roads, less than one mile north of SR 41. The one-week closure will begin Monday, July 27, and continue through Friday, July 31.

Although crews will be working to expedite the projects, motorists will be detoured via SR 41, SR 124 and SR 506 while the route is closed.
