The Highland County Board of Commissioners on Wednesday proclaimed Aug. 16 as a day to celebrate the lives of children and adults with disabilities. On that date, the second annual Highland County Country Picnic will be held at Rocky Fork Lake at the south beach from 2-8 p.m. The event is for all adults and kids with disabilities and their families. It is free and will include food, games, bouncy houses, music, and activities like swimming and fishing. Hills and Dales will provide transportation as needed.
