The drivers in two separate crashes since Thursday are reported by the Hillsboro Police Department to have been operating a vehicle while under the influence.
On Thursday, shortly after 10 p.m. HPD reported that Jeremy Kimball, 32, of Hillsboro, was eastbound on Danville Pike and “failed to negotiate a curve,” went left of center and struck the vehicle of Debra Matthews, 54, of Hillsboro.
Matthews, who was westbound on Danville Pike, had stopped in the roadway prior to the impact because she saw Kimball’s vehicle traveling toward her in her lane, according to information released by HPD.
Matthews was transported to Highland District Hospital where she was treated and released.
Kimball was cited for OVI, driving under suspension, and going left of center, the report says.
On Sunday, shortly before 4 p.m., HPD reported that a single-car accident occurred on Willetsville Pike when 31-year-old Staci A. Henthorn of New Vienna, traveling southbound, failed to maintain control of her vehicle, went off the side of the roadway and struck a tree.
She was transported to HDH where she was treated and released.
According to the report from HPD, alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash and Henthorn was cited for OVI and failure to maintain control.
