Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of January 23-29 the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 238 911 calls, answered dispatched 114 fire and EMS runs, took 40 offense reports and investigated one traffic rash.
On Jan. 25 at 12:03 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 8000 block of SR 134 to investigate a suspicious vehicle and suspicious person complaint. The vehicle in question was located and the owner was advised to cease parking on private property.
A property owner in the 12000 block of SR 41 calle the sheriff’s office 1 at 6:18 p.m. on Jan. 25 to report her pole barn had been broken into and several items were stolen. A deputy responded to the location where an offense report was taken.
The sheriff’s office received an alarm drop from a business in Sinking Spring at 5:20 a.m. on Jan. 28. The alarm monitoring company advised the source of the alarm was coming from the interior of the structure. A deputy was dispatched to investigate. The building was checked and found to be secure. Several errant balloons were thought to be the cause.
A deputy is currently investigating a theft that occurred at a Blaine Street residence in Madison Township. The victim called to report the crime at 8:57 on Jan. 29 after discovering the items were missing. An offense report was taken and a suspect is being sought for questioning.
