Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

Feb. 3

INCIDENT

The police department responded to Walmart after it was reported that surveillance was being reviewed and Brian Johnson, 33, of Lynchburg, was at the pharmacy window making a purchase. After reviewing the video and checking logs available to law enforcement, it was confirmed that Johnson was at the window. Johnson is trespassed from Walmart.Charges are being filed and a warrant issued for his arrest.

Feb. 6

INCIDENT

At noon the police department responded to Walmart for a report of Michelle Sions, 37, of Hillsboro, stealing from the store while reviewing surveillance. After review of the video, it was confirmed that Sions was shoplifting and was also trespassing. Charges are being filed and a warrant issued for her arrest.

Feb. 8

INCIDENTS

At 11:20 a.m. the police department responded to a residence in the 200 block of Johnson Street for a possible overdose. Upon arrival, Joshua Stevens, 29, of Hillsboro, was located on the floor. Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District confirmed the overdose and Stevens was transported to Highland District Hospital. No drugs or paraphernalia were found on scene.

The police department received a complaint about a juvenile getting onto the school bus in the morning and smelling of marijuana. Officers went to the residence at 1100 Northview Dr. After further investigation, a search warrant was conducted at the residence. Drug paraphernalia was located after the search warrant was executed. Travis M. Captain, 35, of Hillsboro, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and Melissa Collet, 38, of Hillsboro, was charged with obstructing official business as a result of the search warrant.

Feb. 9

INCIDENTS

The Hillsboro police department responded to a report of a child alone in a vehicle in the Rite Aid parking lot. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Shelby L. Haag, 25, Hillsboro, who police said admitted to leaving her 1-year-old child alone in the car while she went inside the business to purchase items. Haag was then placed under arrested for child endangering and the child was turned over to the grandmother. An earlier report from HPD misidentified the person who was charged.

Feb. 10

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Brandon Woods, 23, of New Vienna, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

James Tong, 39, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant.

Feb. 11

INCIDENTS

At 8:49 a.m., the police department responded to a business in the 400 block of East Main Street for a report of the business being broken in to overnight. The side door was busted in; however, no items were reported missing. A report was taken.

Feb. 12

INCIDENT

At 12:06 a.m. theta police department responded to a disturbance at the Ole Depot. Upon arrival, officers met with the staff who advised they had removed a person that was starting a fight prior to officers’ arrival. The staff then advised while leaving, the person, who was later identified as Jamar Glover Sr., 28, of Dayton, threatened them. Officers located Glover in a parked car in the parking lot where he refused to open the door and cooperate in any way. A friend then got Glover to get out of the car to speak with officers. He was then identified and arrested for menacing.
