The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

March 26

INCIDENT

At 1:51 p.m., a juvenile and her mother came to the police department to report an adult male had been texting and calling, harassing the juvenile on her phone, after being advised to stop. After the male was advised of the complaint by a Hillsboro police officer, the male agreed to stop communicating with the juvenile. There are no charges at this time and the case is closed.

ACCIDENT

At 1:47 a.m. the police department responded to a reported hit-skip crash in the area of the 500 block of Willettsville Pike. Upon officer arrival, it was found that Simon M. Frey, 23, of Lynchburg, operating a 2003 Ford sedan, was traveling westbound on SR 124 and lost control of his vehicle while going around a curve. Frey then drove off of the right side of the roadway striking mailboxes, a tree, and a retaining wall before striking a parked vehicle and pushing it away from the wall so Frey could then continue westbound from the scene without stopping. Frey was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Tony Miller, 50, of Hillsboro, city income tax.

Anthony Wallace, 48, of Hillsboro, unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine.

Terence Cumberland, 27, of Hillsboro, city income tax.

ACCIDENT

At 3:56 p.m. the police department responded to the 300 block of Chillicothe Pike where it was reported that an unknown driver in a gray Honda Civic struck two mailboxes and left the scene. A report was filed.

March 29

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Shawn Yoakum, 26, of Hillsboro, was arrested on two bench warrants.

Joseph Sandlin, 34, of Peebles, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Derrick Clarkson, 30, of Felicity, was arrested on a bench warrant.

James Dakota Levi Boyd, 24, of Greenfield, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Lindsey Leathley, 31, of Wilmington, was arrested on a bench warrant.

Carole Deis, 24, of Troy, citations for driving under suspension and expired tags.

March 30

ACCIDENT

At 12:12 p.m., the police department responded to a crash in the 500 block of Harry Sauner Road. Upon officer arrival, it was found that Angela Dougherty, 42, of Cincinnati, operating a 2016 Mazda sedan, was traveling eastbound on Harry Sauner Road. Connie Bingaman, 55, of Amelia, operating a 2011 Toyota truck, was exiting a business within the 500 block of Harry Sauner Road. Bingaman failed to observe Dougherty traveling eastbound, resulting in Bingaman’s vehicle striking Dougherty’s vehicle. Bingaman was cited for failure to yield/stop at through highway.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Stuart Motts, 53, of Hillsboro, was issued a citation for speed – 40 mph in a 20 mph zone.

Beverly Peyton, 55, of Hillsboro, was issued a citation for speed – 47 mph in a 20 mph zone.

Dakota Joe Andrew Evans, 23, of Peebles, was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant.
