London Silver Cornet Band featured at Concert on the Court

London Silver Cornet Band will present a free concert at Court House Manor. This free community event will be held on Sunday, Aug. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Bring your lawn chair, kick back in the shade, relax, and enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment at Court House Manor, 555 N. Glenn Ave. Washington Court House. The concert will feature the London Silver Cornet Band, an 18 piece orchestra who will be performing a variety of patriotic music from 1865, including Civil War era tunes such as “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “When Johnnie Comes Marching Home.”

Director Thomas Lloyd will share historical events about Fayette County.

Lunch will be served in The Covered Bridge Café for $5, which includes pulled pork, cole slaw, dessert, and drink. There will be door prize drawings, and the care community will be open for tours. This event is co-sponsored by East Ambulance and Parrett Insurance.
